Thousands of years ago, in places now covered by seas and oceans, mammoths roamed the earth. This was the so called pleistocene epoch.

Now years and years later, we still find remembrances of these magnificent beasts. Ocean's Ivory preserves these pieces in a way history and luxury come together.

Most of our pieces, like in our Epoch Collection, are found in the North Sea. This is were our focus remaines. Other pieces can be found in German lakes for example or even on land. Ocean's Ivory only uses fossillized mammoth tusks.

Found fossils are foremost looked at by an expert. Nature's elements have different effects on mammoth tusks. By examining the colours, textures and layers an educated guess can be made whether pieces origin from land or water.

Fossils found as a product of bycatch from fisherman are becoming rarer and rarer, which makes most of our collections even more rare and limited.

Pieces that get uncovered by fisherman are foremost brought to experts on the subject. The fossils that are of historical importance find their way to different museums all over the world or at other educational centers.

The other pieces find their way to us. And after a special stabilization process our journey begins. Beautiful pieces, mostly from the North Sea, recognizable by their colours and beautiful layers and details. Creating a unique product like our cufflinks.
